Now, the first 100 customers have been served as they stroll around the new 23,000 square foot store, surrounded by friendly smiles and live music.
Speaking at the opening, Steven Ritchie, unit manager at the new store, said: "We're thrilled to be opening the doors on our brand-new B&Q store in Merry Hill.

"It's a 23,000 square foot unit, and we offer paint mixing services, a full garden centre, and plenty of kitchen and bathroom designs.
"The team is excited to welcome customers into the store and showcase everything we have to offer."

The new store offers a range of home improvement essentials, and in addition to picking up their DIY items, the first 100 customers were also gifted a free plant to plant in their lovely gardens.

Visiting the store, Hannah Jones from Stourbridge and Aimee White, from Lye, said: "Our first impression was that it smelled beautiful. All the wood smells fantastic.
"We also got a free plant and some vouchers, we're really pleased with it. We will be back every week."

As well as a special appearance by the world-famous Delux Dog, the store opening was also visited by Dudley's deputy mayor, Councillor Mushtaq Hussain.
He said: "It's wonderful news that this store has opened, and it's great that they have invested money into Merry Hill. It's one of the biggest shopping hubs in the region.
"And it's great for employment around the region. It has created good local jobs for local people."
The new store between 7am to 8pm Monday to Saturday, and 10am to 4pm on Sunday.
