Walsall drug dealer selling his car to repay public purse

Jabba Hussain was previously sentenced for being concerned in the supply of heroin and crack cocaine

A drug dealer who benefitted to the tune of more than £60,000 from his crimes has been ordered to repay a fraction of his ill-gotten gains.

Jabba Hussain, aged 33, of Cobden Street, Palfrey, Walsall, was previously sentenced for being concerned in the supply of heroin and crack cocaine.

He returned to Wolverhampton Crown Court for a proceeds of crime hearing.

Sara Wyeth, prosecuting, said Hussain benefitted by sums of £63, 360.79 and the available sum to be repaid was £300 which would be recoupled from the sale of a vehicle.

Judge Michael Chambers KC ordered that the £300 be paid by Hussain within three months or serve one month in prison by default.

The court heard that the proceeds hearing for co-defendant Abdul Akther, aged 28, also of Cobden Street, was being contested by the defence and would be held at a later date.
