Date Tettenhall Pool is scheduled to reopen as council urges residents to be 'patient'

Wolverhampton Council say the pool closes every year to ensure it can be refilled safely

Residents in Wolverhampton are being asked to stay out of Tettenhall Pool while final preparations are carried out ahead of its anticipated reopening.

City officials say essential maintenance and safety checks are currently underway at the popular outdoor facility.

The pool is currently in the process of being refilled following its routine seasonal closure, and an opening date will be confirmed once all required inspections have been successfully completed.

A spokesperson for Wolverhampton Council said: “We are currently filling Tettenhall Pool and once water testing and treatment has been carried out, we will be able to confirm an opening date.

“As long as the water quality meets the appropriate standards, the pool is expected to open from the late May Bank Holiday.

“We know how popular the pool is with residents but we do ask people not to use it during this preparation time. This is for everyone’s safety and signs advising people not to use the pool are currently located around the site.

“In the meantime, we thank people for their patience and appreciate their understanding.”

The council has placed signage around the site warning against entering the water while preparations are ongoing, citing safety as the key concern.

It also confirmed the closure follows a regular seasonal pattern. “For your information - we close Tettenhall Pool every year during the cooler/colder weather. The closure usually takes place from mid-September to the later May Bank Holiday. This also enables cleaning to take place. The closure period is similar every year.”
