Toxic 'like Harley Quinn and the Joker' - how murder-accused wife described relationship with husband
A wife accused of murdering her husband told police their relationship was 'toxic', adding that it was "like Harley Quinn and the Joker".

Stafford Crown Court heard extracts from interviews police carried out with Amy Pugh in the month after the death of her husband Kyle Pugh.
Mrs Pugh, 34 and of Stafford Road, Wolverhampton, is accused of murdering her husband at her home on March 22, 2022, a charge which she denies.
Mr Pugh, who was 29, died in hospital the day after sustaining neck compression injuries at his wife's home in Newport.
The prosecution alleges Mrs Pugh caused the injuries to her husband; she denies the claim and says she found him after he had hanged himself from the back door of her home.
On Tuesday (May 20) the court heard more details from Mrs Pugh's interview with police on April 2, 2022, after she had been arrested on suspicion of murder.
In it she told officers that she believed the pair, who were separated at the time of Kyle's death, were going to get back together.
She admitted that the relationship was 'toxic', describing it as "like Harley Quinn and the Joker" - referencing two violent villains from Batman comics.
She added: "It is a f*****-up relationship but it works so well."
Mrs Pugh has told the police that her husband left the property after an argument about whether his new girlfriend Charlotte Beacom was pregnant.
She told officers he left between 6.30pm and 7pm and said he had appeared 'panicked' when he exited via the front door.
Asked how Mr Pugh looked when he left, she said: "Panicked and angry, and me going mad saying if she's pregnant I will full-on divorce him, and if she's not pregnant 'go and sort it out'."
The court heard how she told police Mr Pugh had not left by his own choice.
She said: "It was not through his own accord, it was me throwing things at him, telling him to go and sort it out. If I was not throwing things at him and telling him to sort it out he would not have gone out the door."
Asked about getting back together she told police: "It was going to be a long, slow process. Me and Kyle are two f*****-up people, it was going to be a long process but we were prepared to do it."
Mrs Pugh also told police that her husband had previously tried to take his own life.
She said: "This is not the first time Kyle has tried to do this. It is not even the second. Kyle has tried this so many times."
The trial continues.
