Appeal launched following assault and robbery of woman on Birmingham street

An appeal has been launched after a woman was assaulted during a robbery in Birmingham.

West Midlands Police has released an image of a man it said it wants to speak to following the incident on March 1, where a woman's phone was initially taken and there was also an attempt to take her handbag.

The force has asked for anyone with any information to get in touch.

"We want to speak to him after a woman was assaulted during a robbery on Handsworth Wood Road on March 1. 

"The victim’s phone was initially taken and there was an unsuccessful attempt to take her handbag.
