Wolverhampton man appears in court accused of shooting Tipton taxi driver

A Wolverhampton man has appeared in court accused of shooting a Tipton taxi driver.

David Harrison, aged 76, has appeared at Wolverhampton Magistrates Court accused of the fatal shooting of 39-year-old taxi driver, Harun Khan almost 18 years ago.  The father-of-four, died from his injuries after he was fired on outside his home in Tudor Street, Tipton, at about 9.25pm on March 3, 2008.

The defendant, of Bilston, also faces a charge of wounding with intent to cause grievous bodily harm relating to the shooting of a 27-year-old man, in Farthings Lane, in Dudley, on December 14, 2007 and two counts of possessing a firearm.

On Tuesday the matter was transferred to Wolverhampton Crown Court for a case management hearing due tomorrow (January 15).
