Drugs seized and man arrested in Walsall county lines investigation

A man was arrested and a quantity of Class A drugs was seized following a series of raids by police in Walsall.

Officers from the West Midlands Police County Lines Task Force carried out the raids on Tuesday morning at properties in the town, with a device being recovered, a man in his 20s arrested on suspicion of being concerned in the supply of class A drugs and heroin and crack cocaine seized.

The force said the arrests were part of Operation Target, an operation dedicated to tackling serious and organised crime in the West Midlands.

A spokesman for West Midlands Police said: "Drugs believed to be heroin and crack cocaine have been seized and a man arrested as part of an investigation into county lines dealing in the Walsall area.

"Officers from our County Lines Task Force (CLTF) carried out raids at the three properties in the area this morning and recovered a device believed to be involved in the running of a drugs line.

"A man in his 20s was arrested on suspicion of being concerned in the supply of class A drugs and remains in custody this afternoon as the investigation continues.

"The arrest is part of Operation Target, our 24/7 mission to tackle those involved in serious and organised crime in the region.

"Detectives, firearms, intelligence and neighbourhood officers work together to arrest and disrupt those involved in guns, drugs, exploitation and money laundering.
