Two men charged following police retail crime operation in Birmingham
Two men have been charged with offences related to retail crime as part of a police operation.
Craig Ford and Liam Holder were both arrested during an evening of police retail patrols in Kingstanding and Tyburn on Monday, with 50-year-old Ford charged with theft and 38-year-old Holder with breaching a court order.
A spokesman for West Midlands Police said: "Two men have been charged following a retail crime operation in north Birmingham.
"During the busiest shopping period of the year as we approach Christmas, our officers have been out and about carrying out dedicated retail crime operations to deter shop thieves and protect retail workers.
"Yesterday evening (December 22), officers were carrying out proactive retail patrols around Kingstanding and Tyburn, when they arrested two men.
"Craig Ford, 50, was detained and charged with theft.
"Liam Holder, 38, was detained for breaching a court order.
"Proactive patrols and retail engagement will continue over the festive period, and we would urge anyone with concerns to speak to officers.
