Two people arrested after stolen car recovered in Dudley and a knife was found nearby
A man and a woman have been arrested on suspicion of stealing a car after police officers spotted the vehicle being driven in Dudley.
The officers from West Midlands Police spotted the car while out on patrol on Saturday and pursued it until it stopped on Delph Road in Brierley Hill, with the occupants attempting to flee the scene.
A 44-year-old man and a 50-year-old woman were arrested a short time later, with both being arrested on suspicion of theft of a motor vehicle, while the man was also detained on suspicion of possession of an offensive weapon after a knife was recovered from the area.
A spokesman for West Midlands Police said: "We've arrested two people after officers recovered a stolen car in Dudley.
"An Audi A3 was reported as being taken at around 9.30am on November 1.
"Our officers were on patrol when they spotted the vehicle later in the afternoon.
"The car came to a stop near Delph Road, Brierley Hill, before the occupants made off.
"A 44-year-old man was arrested shortly afterwards and a knife was also recovered from the area.
"He was detained on suspicion of theft of a motor vehicle and possession of an offensive weapon.
"A 50-year-old woman was also arrested nearby on suspicion of theft of a motor vehicle.
"They're both currently in police custody for questioning."
