Two arrested on suspicion of murder after Walsall man dies in hospital
Two men have been arrested on suspicion of murder after a man found injured in Walsall earlier this month died in hospital.
A 55-year-old man was discovered with head injuries on Wednesbury Road in the early hours of Saturday, October 11.
He was treated at hospital but following his return home, was taken ill again last Thursday (October 16).
The man returned to hospital and died the same evening, with the cause of his death yet to be established.
But police are treating his injuries from the earlier incident as being the result of an assault and have now detained two men, aged 18 and 28, on suspicion of murder. They remain in police custody for questioning.
A West Midlands Police spokesperson said: "We’ve been continuing enquiries in and around the Wednesbury Road and we're keen to hear from anyone with information which could assist our investigation.
"We’re particularly interested in speaking to anyone who was in the area at the time, or who has CCTV or dashcam footage.
"If you have information that could help our investigation, call 101 quoting log 175 of October 17, or send it via this link: mipp.police.uk/operation/20HQ25A83-PO1.
