Firearm discharged in Wolverhampton as a group of men approach pair - police appeal

Police have launched an investigation after a firearm was discharged in Wolverhampton last nght (Friday, September 5)

The incident saw a group of men approach two other men before discharging a firearm, officers said.

West Midlands Police are appealing for information following an incident on Kipling Road in Wolverhampton

They said that two men were approached by another group of men at around 8.30pm on Friday night, before a firearm was discharged in the area.

Thankfully, no one was injured, with a police probe quickly being launched to identify those involved. 

Detective Inspector Matt Marston, from the force's Major Crime Team, said: "We are in the early stages of our investigation and ask anyone who may have any information about the incident to get in touch.

“We'd like to hear from anyone who was in the area and may have dashcam or doorbell footage.

"We are reviewing CCTV footage and forensically examining the scene as part of our enquiries to understand what happened and who was involved."
