500 cannabis plants seized in early morning raid at Dudley house

More than 500 cannabis plants were seized during an early morning raid at a house in the Black Country.

Officers from West Midlands Police seized the plants after they were discovered at a property in Dudley.

Officers executed a search warrant and found the plants when they searched the property on Wolverhampton Street.

A spokesman for Dudley Town Police said: “Over 500 Cannabis plants found in what was a sophisticated set up.

“These will now be destroyed before causing harm to our communities.”

Chief superintendent for Dudley Police Kim Madill tweeted: “Another warrant executed today and drugs seized. Keep the intelligence coming please.”

The haul found on Thursday would have been worth hundreds of thousands of pounds to gangs in the region.

A spokesman for West Midlands Police said: "Officers executed a drugs warrant at around 9am on Thursday at an address in Wolverhampton Road, Dudley. A cannabis farm was found at the property with around 500 plants.

"Enquiries continue and anyone with information is asked to contact us on 101, quoting log number 810 of March 11."
