Aamer Araf, aged 32, of St James Road, Oldbury, attacked the woman and her child in May.

Araf entered the pleas during a hearing at Wolverhampton Crown Court on Friday, where he was ordered to remain in custody ahead of a sentencing date later this year.

The incident took place between May 27 and 29.

He also pleaded not guilty to two counts of attempted murder against the same people.

Judge Michael Chambers QC said: "Mr Araf, you have had the courage to plead guilty to these matter. You must be kept in custody [ahead of sentencing]."

Sentencing will take place at the same court on March 12.
