Arrest after machete road rage attack near Dudley primary school

Detectives investigating a road rage attack in which a machete was used on a car near a Dudley primary school have arrested a man.

Parents dropping their children off at Jessons Primary School, in School Street, were left shocked after the incident on Wednesday morning.

Officers were called multiple times just after 9.10am after reports that a man was using a machete to hit a car windscreen

The woman inside the car, a 23-year-old mother, said her young daughter was crying in the back seat after the attack. She posted video footage and pictures on Instagram.

West Midlands Police confirmed on Friday afternoon that they had arrested a man in connection with the incident.

A spokesman for the force said: "The 20-year-old was held in the borough last night [Thursday] on suspicion of criminal damage and a public order offence.

"We believe we have also identified a second man involved in the attack and arrest attempts are underway.

"Enquiries have established a grey Mercedes Vito van, believed to have been involved, was on cloned plates.

"We remain in contact with the victim, who was not injured but was understandably shaken."
