Man shot in chest in drive-by Birmingham shooting

A man has been shot in the chest in a drive-by shooting.

Police and paramedics arrived at Palace Road, in Bordesley Green, Birmingham, at around 10.30pm on Sunday night following the shooting.

Officers believe the shot was fired from a car which then fled the scene.

The victim, a man in his 20s, was taken to hospital to be treated for his injuries.

West Midlands Police say his condition is not believed to be life-threatening.

A West Midlands Police spokesman said:

"Enquiries are ongoing and anyone with information can contact us."

A spokesman for West Midlands Ambulance Service said: "On arrival we discovered one patient, a man, who had suffered potentially serious injuries. Following treatment at the scene he was transported to hospital with for further assessment.

"The doctor travelled with the patient on the ambulance to continue treatment on route to hospital."

Witnesses are urged to call West Midlands Police on 101, quoting crime reference number 20BW/108724A/20.
