Murder investigation after man found with stab wounds at Birmingham flat

Police have launched a murder investigation after a man was found with stab injuries at a Birmingham flat.

The man was found with stab wounds at a flat in Ladypool Road, in Sparkbrook,

Officers were called to the multi-occupancy property in Ladypool Road, in Sparkbrook, just before 4.30pm today.

A Somalian man was found collapsed and had suffered knife injuries.

The air ambulance was called – but the victim was pronounced dead before he could be taken on board.

The victim is yet to be identified.

Detectives from West Midlands Police's homicide unit are at the scene this evening carrying out inquiries in a bid to understand what happened.

Detective Inspector Jim Mahon said: "We understand there was a disturbance at the address which has resulted in a man losing his life.

“We are in the process of speaking to several people who were present at the property and are following up numerous lines of enquiry.

“If anyone saw or heard anything significant in Ladypool Road, by the junction of Brighton Road, from 3pm this afternoon we would like to hear from them.”
