Arrests after money taken from Walsall pensioner

Two people have been arrested after reports of money being taken from an Willenhall pensioner.

A 49-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of fraud and a 30-year-old woman was arrested on suspicion of theft after police were called on Saturday.

Officers were called to reports of money being taken from the bank account of an elderly man in New Invention.

Both people arrested have been bailed.

A spokesman for West Midlands Police said: "We arrested two people after being called on Saturday about reports of money being taken from the bank account of an elderly man in New Invention, Willenhall.

"A 49-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of fraud and a 30-year-old woman was arrested on suspicion of theft.

"Both have been bailed as enquiries continue."
