Cash stolen during distraction burglary in Dudley

A man stole cash from a house in Dudley after pretending to be a water board worker.

The distraction burglary took place on Friday at around 11.30am at a house on Patricia Crescent near the Roseville estate.

The man claimed to be from the water board and that he needed to fix a blockage.

Once inside the home, he went upstairs and stole "a quantity of cash."

A West Midlands Police spokesperson said: "Police are investigating a distraction burglary at a house in Patricia Crescent, Dudley which occurred between 11.15am and 11.30am on Friday, June 28.

"An investigation is under way and anyone with any information is asked to contact police via live chat at www.west-midlands.pnn.police.uk between 8am and midnight or call police on 101 anytime. Please quote crime reference number 20DY/153237A/19."
