Police are keen to speak to any witnesses who may have dash cam footage at the scene, and may have seen a black BMW X1.

A BMW was later found burnt out and officers believe it may have been used as a getaway car.

Police closed off a section of the road outside Katz Kutz Barbers in the aftermath

Detective Inspector Chris Fox, from force CID, said: "A man has been left seriously injured and we are working round the clock to establish the reasons behind this shooting.

"This arrest is a significant development but we still need to hear from anyone who was in the area at the time, and not already spoken to officers, to come forward."
