Man seriously injured after being hit with own van

A man was seriously injured when he was hit by his own van after it was stolen.

The 22-year-old was struck in Paradise Lane, near Featherstone, at around noon yesterday .

He was airlifted to hospital after suffering potentially life-changing injuries.

Staffordshire Police said the incident happened after the van was stolen and have launched an appeal for witnesses.

A spokesman said: "Officers were called to Paradise Lane to a report of a white Ford Transit having collided with a man 10 minutes before.

"An air ambulance took the 22-year-old man to hospital where he remains with potentially life changing injuries.

"Detectives are investigating the theft and are asking anyone who witnessed the incident or who has information or dashcam footage of the incident to contact 101 quoting incident number 279 of 4 March."
