Boy in court over fatal stabbing outside Birmingham college

A boy is due in court today after a student was fatally stabbed outside a Birmingham college.

The 16-year-old victim died on Friday, two days after the stab attack.

He was attacked at around 4pm on Wednesday outside the Joseph Chamberlain Sixth Form College that he attended in Highgate, Birmingham.

A 17-year-old boy has also been arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender, police said.

The 16-year-old suspect is accused of attempted murder and was charged before the victim died.

In addition, police said he had been charged with causing grievous bodily harm and possession of an offensive weapon after a man was stabbed in the wrist in December.
