The scene in Pirbright Close on Thursday

The flats in Pirbright Close, Bradley, Bilston, were cordoned off until the early afternoon today.

The nature of the incident is not yet known, but police and paramedics are believed to have been called to the cul-de-sac off Bank Street at around 7am.

A blue sheet was used to cover the entrance to the flats, while a police tent was set up nearby as crime scene investigators examined the grass in front of the building.

Police tape was also put up inside and outside the flats until around 2pm, when only the blue sheet was left.

West Midlands Police has been contacted for comment.
