Great uncle denies murder of Jasmine Forrester

A 51-year-old man has denied murdering his 11-year-old great-niece.

Delroy Forrester entered his plea of not guilty when he appeared at Wolverhampton Crown Court via a video link on Thursday.

Jasmine Forrester was found with serious head injuries at a house in Kent Road, Monmore Green on February 9.

She was taken to hospital but was certified dead the same day.

Unemployed Forrester, previously from Lower Villiers Street, Blakenhall but now of The Haven, Waterloo Road, Wolverhampton, was remanded in custody by Judge James Burbidge QC.

The defendant is next due to appear at court on July 2. A provisional trial date has been set for August 13.
