Man stabbed after fight close to Walsall nightclub

A man has been stabbed after violence flared among a group of people on a night out in Walsall.

Police were called after a fight broke out close to UNIT nightclub in Bradford Place at around 5am on Saturday.

Officers and ambulance service staff found a man who had suffered stab wounds.

Ambulance staff treated the 20-year-old victim at the scene before he was taken to hospital.

He suffered serious but not life threatening injuries. He remains in hospital in a stable condition.

Police taped off parts of Walsall town centre

A cordon remains in place around the Bridgeman Street and Bradford Street while forensic examinations take place and CCTV is being trawled.

Footage posted on social media shows a large number of people involved as fights broke out which quickly spread across nearby roads.
