Parents warned after man tries to lure schoolboy, 13, into car in Walsall

Parents have been put on alert following an alleged attempted abduction of a 13-year-old boy.

A father claimed his son was approached by an Asian male who wound down his car window and told the boy he had been sent to pick him up.

The incident happened on Earl Street, Palfrey, on Friday between 6.15pm and 6.30pm.

Fortunately the vigilant boy questioned the suspect prompting the man to drive off.

A spokeswoman for West Midlands Police said: “We were called at 6.31pm by a parent reporting that his son was approached by a man.

“The 13-year-old boy was with friends when he became separated and was approached by an Asian man in a dark vehicle who said that his dad had told him to pick the boy up.

“We have arranged an appointment to speak to the victim.”
