Two teenagers, aged 15 and 16, were arrested on Monday night. A 17-year-old was arrested on Tuesday morning.

Detectives are now appealing for anyone living near the pub who may have witnessed the attack to get in contact.

Eye-witnesses said there had been a stabbing and they had seen someone being carried from the pub by paramedics to the awaiting ambulance.

“He was all wrapped up and looked in a bad way,” said one onlooker, who declined to be named.

Police officers interviewed customers and staff behind closed curtains at the pub.

An unnamed witness said they thought the stabbing had happened outside the pub and a barmaid had given him help before paramedics arrived.

Anyone with information is asked to call police on 101, asking for Detective Sergeant Neil Bason or one of his team.

Two men were stabbed at the pub in April 2013.

The two victims, then aged 33 and 44, had both been stabbed in the back while a 37-year-old who was arrested, was also taken to hospital with a hand injury.
