Ex-Wordsley councillor Derrick Hemingsley, 56, has been charged with taking 90 pictures of the child.

It allegedly happened between August 6, 2013, and November 7, 2015.

He appeared before magistrates in Walsall yesterday, where he indicated he would plead not guilty to the single charge.

Hemingsley, of Penzer Street, Kingswinford, will next appear at Wolverhampton Crown Court on February 9.

He was granted bail on the condition he has no contact with children aged under 16 and with the victim, or their family.

Mr Hemingsley was chairman of the Friends of Wordsley Park.
