Brownhills double stabbing drama: Man charged with attempted murder over violent crime spree

A man has been charged with attempted murder after two men were seriously injured in a 10-minute crime spree in Brownhills.

Renroy Johnson, 32, Tamar Close, Brownhills, faces a number of charges after the men, believed to be father and son, were among five people injured as the drama unfolded on Sunday.

An armed robbery took place moments after the stabbings, before a stolen car smashed head-on into an ambulance on its way to treat the victims.

Police then confronted the suspect who threatened officers and paramedics with a large knife before he was eventually Tasered and arrested.

Today, the Crown Prosecution Service said that Johnson was appearing before Walsall magistrates charged with the following offences:

Attempted murder, three charges of assault by beating, affray, dangerous driving, two robberies, wounding with intent and possession of a knife.

The terrifying events, which happened within 500 metres of each other, started around 4.30pm when two men were stabbed at a flat in Tamar Close.

One of the victims received serious stab wounds to his chest while the other sustained injuries to his head and stomach. Both are said to be recovering in hospital.
