Crafty morning in Great Wyrley goes down a storm as villagers look ahead

Great Wyrley Carnival may be over three months away but the organising committee are already raising funds to help put it on with a number of events planned between now and the actual day on June 29.

One of these was a craft fair on Saturday held at Harrisons Sports & Social Club in the village where hundreds of people came to see what was on offer.

Gifts for the forthcoming Mother's Day and Easter proved popular along with Tracey's Treasures stall which was taking orders for both events and beyond.

And for the hungry, thirsty or just sweet toothed there were a number of cake and other food and drinks stalls.

THe committee hold events throughout the year, with a St George's Day parade and event taking place on April 19 and a scarecrow weekend on May 17 with displays around the village.
