'Contact police immediately' warning if this happens to you on night out
Staffordshire Police have issued an urgent safety warning for anyone heading out on the town.
Police have issued an urgent warning to ‘call them immediately’ if they believe they may have been spiked on a night out.
Spiking is the act of giving someone alcohol or drugs without their knowledge or consent. It is illegal and can happen to anyone anywhere.
Staffordshire Police’s Stafford team issued a warning to people to never leave their drinks unattended and to report being spiked immediately.

A spokesperson wrote on social media: “We are urging people to stay safe on nights out and never leave their drinks unattended.
“We recommend using drink caps when going out. If you believe you may have been spiked please contact the police immediately.”
How to stay safe from spiking?
It is important to stay safe from drink spiking when going on a night out. One way to protect yourself is to keep your drink with you at all times and never leave it unattended.
If you lose sight of your drink, it is safer to get a new one. You should also avoid accepting drinks from strangers and try to watch your drink being prepared.
Going out with trusted friends can also help keep you safe. Friends can look out for each other and make sure everyone gets home safely.
If you or a friend suddenly feel unwell, dizzy, or more intoxicated than expected, tell someone you trust and seek help immediately.
If this has happened to you, Staffordshire Police has a dedicated page for reporting spiking, find out more on their website.
