Car on tracks causes early-morning disruption to trams in Birmingham
Ticket acceptance was available on buses and trains.
A car on the tracks caused disruption to tram services in Birmingham early this morning (August 30).
The vehicle, which was on the tracks near St Chads Cathedral in the city centre, halted services between Winson Green and Edgbaston Village just before 7am.
Ticket acceptance was in place on the National Express West Midlands 74 service and West Midlands Railway trains. However, services were restored at 8.45am.
A spokesperson for the transport provider said: “Due to a car on the tracks at St Chads there is no service currently in operation between Winson Green & Edgbaston Village.
“Service is operation between Wolverhampton and Winson Green only.
“Tickets & passes are being accepted on @nxwestmidlands bus 74 & @WestMidRailway. We apologise for any inconvenience caused.”
