The Dudley Street coffee chain will close on August 11.

Workers at the store, based in the entrance of the Mander Centre, posted online on the Starbucks Wolverhampton Facebook page to thank their customers and share the news.

The post says: "We would like to let all our customers know we have some very sad news to share with you all unfortunately our store will be closing on August 11.

"We would like to take this opportunity to say that we have loved each and every customer and we have welcomed your custom for all these years.

"We would love to see all of our customers over these next four weeks to say our goodbyes.

"Thank you for being the best customers we could of hoped for."

It is not yet known whether staff will keep their jobs.

Customers and former staff have expressed their sadness at the closure on the shop's own Facebook page.

Bryan Preston wrote: "Gutted to be told this the other day when I popped in."

Laura Caccetta added: "So sorry to hear this! My first ‘proper’ job! Made friends for life at this store. Good luck everyone."

The news comes after it was revealed earlier this year the two-year-old Debenhams store in the centre will be closing.

Debenhams was the centrepiece of the Mander Centre's massive £35 million revamp.

Starbucks has been contacted for comment.
