Black Country High Street remains closed amid ongoing repairs to huge sinkhole

Brownhills High Street in Walsall remains closed as ongoing works continue to repair a huge sinkhole.
Work has been ongoing and the sinkhole is slowly being covered over.
The sinkhole, which opened up on High Street in Brownhills, remained cordoned off over the weekend while specialist teams worked at the scene.

And it still remains cordoned off today (Friday July 10). Fences are still erected around the sinkhole preventing drivers from accessing the whole of Brownhills High Street.
Temporary traffic management measures and diversions are still in place, affecting motorists and bus services passing through the town.
West Midlands Roads urges drivers to plan ahead if travelling through the area and allow extra time for your journey.
On Friday, June 26 a spokesperson for Walsall Council said the authority is working alongside partner agencies as investigations continue.

They said: "Severn Trent Water are on site at the sinkhole on High Street, Brownhills, carrying out ongoing investigations to establish the cause of the collapse.
"While this work is under way, temporary traffic management measures and diversions remain in place."
The council has urged motorists to continue following signed diversion routes while engineers assess the ground conditions and determine what repairs are required.
