New York inspired new look for the Birmingham restaurant offering a unique taste of the city
A Birmingham restaurant renowned for its unique interpretation of the city in food has unveiled a new look inspired by New York
It’s one of Birmingham’s most iconic hidden gem dining destinations which has won praise from a host of esteemed food critics across the UK.
Now 670 Grams in Digbeth has unveiled a new urban look inspired by New York after its owner and joint head chef.
The team have also announced the appointment of another head chef as part of the stylish refurbishment which celebrates Birmingham’s sights, sounds and scents.
670 Grams has been wowing foodies since it was opened by Young Michelin Chef of the Year Kray Treadwell on Gibb Street in the Custard Factory in 2020 - and the updated interiors and new chef are set to impress once more.
Joining Kray and joint head chef Sacha is Manuel Ribiero who has previously worked at Grace & Savour, Moor Hall and Whatley Manor.
The renewed interior is brighter and more open, flooded with natural light. Clean white walls are adorned with artwork that reflects Birmingham’s identity, including references to Spaghetti Junction, The Electric Cinema and Digbeth.
The collection also includes contributions from Kray and Sacha’s daughter Stonie, as well as an acrylic on canvas by Sacha titled Backs.

Among its many food fans is Guardian food critic and MasterChef presenter Grace Dent who praised the restaurant for offering ‘a cascade of small, meaningful bowls that just ooze flavour’.
Of the new look Kray said, “We’ve stripped it all back. The moody black has gone, and the natural evolution has taken us towards a brighter, more open space with clean white walls, brought to life by artwork that reflects Birmingham and our journey.
“A big part of that was the idea of bringing the outside in, softening the boundary between the restaurant and our location in Digbeth and making the space feel more connected to its surroundings."
Sacha added, "A trip to New York really lit a fire under us, it pushed us to take the restaurant to its full potential and finally make the changes we had always talked about. It feels like a defining moment for us and a clear step into the next phase of 670 Grams.”
