10 men from Birmingham and Walsall face court over drug charges
They are scheduled to appear in court today
Ten men are scheduled to appear in court charged with drug offences, after police officers conducted a series of raids in Handsworth, Selly Oak, Birmingham city centre, and Walsall.
Quantities of heroin and cannabis were recovered from these raids.
Nine men from Birmingham and another from Walsall, aged between 20 and 48, will appear before Birmingham Magistrates today (October 21) charged with a range of drug offences including conspiracy to supply Class A and B drugs.
Police were particularly present on Soho Road in Handsworth, Birmingham this week as people told officers about issues on the road and nearby areas.
Det Ch Insp John Askew, who leads Operation Fearless at West Midlands Police said: "This week of activity, which we've been planning for months, is an important part of our work tackling community concerns.
"We know the issues that are affecting local people, and we are relentlessly targeting those causing harm, including through yesterday's significant raids - which will have a real impact on the supply of drugs in the area.
"We also have officers out and about patrolling every day as we continue to offer a visible and reassuring presence, engaging with people and making sure those who are vulnerable are offered the right help and support."
