How long will the warm Bank Holiday weekend weather last across the West Midlands? Full forecast
As the region gets ready for the Spring Bank Holiday, those looking to venture outdoors can look forward to several days of fine and sunny weather.
It is set to be a much warmer and sunnier weekend for people living across the Black Country, Staffordshire and Wyre Forest as temperatures are set to rise and stay high into next month.
Ahead of the Spring Bank Holiday on May 25, the Met Office has put out a forecast that says the weather across the region is set to reach temperatures as high as 29°C (84.2°F) on Sunday.
Starting on Thursday, when the weather is set to reach 21°C (69.8°F), the Met Office has predicted temperatures of 26°C (78.8°F) on Friday, then 27°C (80.6°F) on Saturday and Bank Holiday Monday and said that while there might be a chance of thundery rain, the forecast for the weekend was for warm weather.
Met Office Deputy Chief Forecaster Tony Wisson said: “The weather later this week will feel like a marked contrast from recent days, with warm, fine and settled weather for many.
“While the warmth will persist through the Bank Holiday weekend, conditions will turn more unsettled later Friday and into Saturday, with a mix of cloud, showers and longer spells of rain.

“There is also the chance of thundery rain in places. Nonetheless, temperatures should remain warm or very warm through Saturday and into Sunday, with highs around 26°C in the south across the weekend and into next week.”
The Met Office also gave a long-range weather forecast for next week, leading up to Monday, June 1, in which it said warm weather would stay across the region through the week.
A spokesman for the Met Office said: “Saturday will be warm with some showery weather and even a chance of thunderstorms in places.
“Then by Sunday and through Bank Holiday Monday, warm and fair weather is expected to prevail.
“Through the following week, high pressure is expected to broadly remain in place for much of the UK, and fine weather is likely to continue for most of the country.
“There may be occasions where low pressure to the north may bring some brief spells of rain across northern parts, but in general fair weather will dominate.
“Temperatures are expected to be above normal, feeling very warm at times with light winds.”
