All lanes reopen on M6 after crash and major oil spill caused hour-long delays
At the height of the disruption, motorists faced delays of up to 70 minutes
All lanes have reopened on the M6 between Walsall and Wednesbury after a collision and large oil spill caused severe disruption for drivers throughout the day.
The southbound carriageway between junction 10 at Walsall and junction nine at Wednesbury was subject to multiple lane closures while emergency services and recovery crews dealt with the aftermath of the incident.
At the height of the disruption, motorists faced delays of up to 70 minutes and six miles of congestion as West Midlands Police and National Highways worked at the scene.

Two of the motorway's four lanes were initially closed following the collision, with restrictions later reduced to a single lane while recovery operations and clean-up work continued.
National Highways has now confirmed that all lanes are open. Residual delays of around 10 minutes and one mile of congestion remained on the approach shortly after the road was fully reopened.
