Three Albanians have been arrested in Walsall town centre amid a crackdown on illegal migrants.

Three Albanian nationals were arrested in Walsall town centre yesterday (Sunday 26 April) after being identified as in the UK illegally.

Immigration Enforcement officers visited One Gallery Square, an apartment complex, in Walsall, at around 4pm and subsequently arrested the three Albanian nationals.

According to the Home Office, 2025 was the highest year on record for illegal working enforcement activity with over 9,000 arrests and 12,800 raids carried out across the UK – a 60% and 58% rise respectively compared to 2024.

A Home Office spokesperson said: “We have set out the most sweeping reforms on illegal migration in modern times, stripping away incentives pulling people to the UK unlawfully and making it far easier to remove or deport anyone entering the country illegally.

“Nearly 60,000 illegal migrants and foreign criminals have been removed or deported from the UK since the 2024 election – up 31% on the 19 months prior.”
