Adorable pictures released by West Midlands Safari Park have captured animals cooling off with frozen treats as temperatures soar across the UK.
The UK is expected to experience the hottest day ever recorded in May today (May 25), with weather forecasters predicting temperatures to reach 33C this afternoon.
But while humans are struggling with the heat, it seems animals are also in search of ways to cool off. That’s why keepers at West Midlands Safari Park have offered their beloved animals some relief in the form of frozen treats.
Images shared online showed parrots enjoying ice lollies containing fruit and rhinos licking large ice cubes with carrots inside.
A spokesperson said: “Ice, ice, baby! The animals have been beating the heat in the best way possible – with giant ice lollies packed full of their favourite treats!
“From fruity frozen snacks to ice-cold enrichment, it's all part of helping the animals stay comfortable and entertained during the warm weather. BRB, asking the keepers if there's one for us too... ”
