A suspected shop thief is due in court after officers detained a man following a number of thefts from a store in Wolverhampton.
A suspected shop thief is due to appear in court today after officers detained a man following thefts from a store in the Westcroft area of Wolverhampton.
West Midlands Police officers were investigating after items were reported stolen from a convenience store on Cannock Road last month when they detained a suspect in Westcroft Avenue, at around 12.15pm on Monday.

John Carless, aged 43, was charged with three thefts and breaching a restraining order.
He was remanded to police ahead of appearing before Wolverhampton Magistrates' Court today.
A force spokesperson said: "A suspected shop thief is due before the courts today after officers detained a man following thefts from a store in the Westcroft area of Wolverhampton.
"Officers investigating after items were reported stolen from a convenience store on Cannock Road last month detained a suspect in Westcroft Avenue at around 12.15pm yesterday (Mon).
"Our teams are taking part in the national Winter of Action initiative where we work with partners in town centres across the region, tackling crime, reassuring communities, and ensuring our high streets are welcoming and safe for everyone."
