The Spread Eagle, in Broad Lane South, Wednesfield will reopen as one of Marston's Two Door Pubs featuring a lively locals' bar on one side and a family-friendly lounge on the other.

Pub company Marston's says the investment will revitalise the venue with a range of "exciting improvements to further solidify the pub as somewhere that everyone feels at home".

It closed on October 20 for the refurbishment as more than 250 regulars signed a petition to keep the ambience of the pub the same.

Regular Stuart Russell described it as "an integral part of Wednesfield, deeply embedded in the hearts of its residents as a place where people connect, share stories, and enjoy each others' company".

There were fears the venue, a popular destination for Sunday lunch, would be turned into a sports bar and attract a different clientele but Marston's confirmed it will have something for everyone with two unique spaces

The pub will officially re-open tomorrow at noon.
