Woman detained under Mental Health Act after being arrested over death of two Stafford youngsters
A woman who was arrested following the death of two children in Stafford has been detained under the Mental Health Act.
Police have also confirmed she is related to the victims.
Meraj Ul Zahra, aged two, and Abdul Momin Alfaateh, aged three, were both found unresponsive with injuries inside their home on Corporation Street around 7.30am yesterday (Sunday).
The 43-year-old woman, from the Stafford area, who was arrested on suspicion of murder has now been detained under the Mental Health Act after being assessed by medical professionals.
A cordon remains in place on Corporation Street and a number of Staffordshire Police officers are still in the area.

A police spokesperson said: "We would like to thank the local community for their understanding and help at this difficult time.

The incident has been referred to the Independent Office for Police Conduct (IOPC) as is routine following earlier police contact.
