Dudley North Police Team give pint-sized crime fighter Freddie a day to remember
A wannabe young cop had his dream come true after Dudley North Police gave him the chance to be a pint-sized crime fighter.
Freddy recently celebrated his fourth birthday and had only one wish – to sit in a police car and meet a police officer.
Dudley North Police team arranged to make his visit even more memorable by combining his day out with West Midlands Fire Service who are located at the same station.
Meeting Freddy at Burton Road Fire Station the youngster met some of the team including the Sergeant, PCs and PCSOs. He got to try on some of their police hats and even got to sit in a police car and van and put the sirens on.

The team made his day even more special when they gave him a small police car as a present.
Sergeant Ross Treacy, of the Dudley North Specialist Neighbourhood Team, said: “We may have a future PC on our hands with Freddy.
“It was great to meet him and his family, and to give them a behind-the-scenes look at the police station and vehicles we use to catch criminals, and also let him meet some firefighters.
“Working for the police and being a part of the neighbourhood team is about more than just arresting people. It’s important we engage with the community and getting the chance to meet youngsters like Freddy is a great part of the job.”
