Staffordshire man denies causing death of two teenagers in Lichfield crash in May
A Staffordshire man has denied causing the death of two teenage girls who were killed in Lichfield.
On May 29, this year, Sylvie Bates and Martha Swift, both 16, died after they were hit by a Vauxhall Vivaro van on Lichfield Road in Whittington, around 10.25pm.
Both girls were rushed to hospital for treatment but Ms Bates died two days later and Ms Swift died on June 2.

Michael Riley, 29, from Lichfield, appeared at Stafford Crown Court today (Friday) charged with two counts of causing death by careless or inconsiderate driving at Stafford Crown Court.
Riley pleaded not guilty to both charges.
The trial will be held on November 30, 2026.
After their deaths, the families of both teenagers released a joint statement praising them, they said: “We are devastated by the loss of our beautiful and loving daughters and sisters."
