Police have charged a man over the murder of Shara Miller who was found dead at a Smethwick industrial estate on Monday (August 11)

West Midlands Police has charged a man over the murder of Shara Millar, who was found dead in Smethwick on Monday morning (11 August).

Tanveer Singh was arrested on Tuesday in connection with the death of 41-year-old Shara.

The 31-year-old, from West Bromwich, was charged with her murder yesterday evening (August 13).

He has been remanded to appear before Wolverhampton Magistrates Court today (August 14).

Two other men have been released with no further action after being questioned by detectives.

Shara was discovered off Woodburn Road and a forensic post mortem has revealed she died as a result of strangulation.

Police believe Shara was killed in the early hours of the morning at the location where her body was discovered.

Detectives are continuing to ask the public for any information surrounding her movements before 1am.

Detective Chief Inspector Alastair Orencas, from WMP Homicide Unit, said: "This charge is a significant development in our investigation which remains very much ongoing.

"Our focus is on getting justice for Shara and her loved ones, and it's important that anyone with information which could help us come forward.

"We've been carrying out enquiries in and around Soho Road, Birmingham, where it's understood she was involved in sex work, and we really want to hear from anyone who may have seen Shara on Sunday evening or early Monday morning.”

A spokesperson for WMP added: “We've increased patrols in the area where Shara was found, and around Soho Road as reassurance.
