Walsall Police granted court order to stop people causing fear and havoc at a Bentley property
Walsall Police has been granted a closure order on a property which has become a magnet for drugs, disorder and anti-social behaviour.
Residents who live near the house in Montgomery Road, Bentley, have repeatedly complained about the trouble caused by those who frequent the property.
Walsall Magistrates Court granted a partial closure order after West Midlands Police and Walsall Housing Group (WHG) worked together to provide evidence.
The partial closure order makes it a criminal offence for anyone other than those specified on the order to enter the property.
PC Tom Cross, from the Walsall Serious Organised Crime and Exploitation Team, (SOCEX), said: “This property was causing real upset for a lot of people in the community and we received lots of calls from people complaining about anti-social behaviour.

“We listened to the concerns and along with our partners including whg we have taken action and been granted a partial closure order at court which will be in place for three months.
"We just hope this order will now improve the quality of life for residents in the community who had been so badly affected by anti-social behaviour which was originating from the property.”
Sarah Clarke, Director of Housing and Customer Service at WHG said: "We are committed to ensuring our customers feel safe and secure in their homes. In response to serious concerns raised by residents, our Community Safety Team has worked closely with the police to secure a partial closure order on this property.

“This is a positive outcome for the residents of Montgomery Road, bringing an end to the persistent anti-social behaviour that has impacted this community. It reflects the strength of our ongoing partnership with West Midlands Police and how working together leads to lasting results for residents.”
