Banks’s Brewery marks 150th anniversary with celebratory brew for Wolverhampton Beer Festival
A special brew paying tribute to 150 years of history will be available for beer lovers to try at the Wolverhampton Beer Festival.
Banks’s Brewery will raise a glass to 150 years of brewing history in the city with the launch of a one-off, special edition cask ale called the Sesquicentennial IPA.
Available exclusively at the Wolverhampton Beer Festival from July 24 to 26, the beer is a bold, hoppy IPA with a classic Banks’s character and is named in honour of the brewery’s 150th anniversary.
Dry hopped with Ahtanum, from Washington State in the USA, and the new English variety, Opus, the beer has a bold floral aroma, with vivid flavours of orange and grapefruit citrus along with fragrant elderflower and subtle herbal hints.

With the brewery set to cease operations in the Autumn, Banks's said the special IPA offers a fitting tribute that honour the brewery’s legacy, its deep roots in the Black Country, and the dedicated team at the brewery.
