'It's horrific - I'm terrified of leaving my house': Residents fear following shooting in Dudley that left woman with serious injuries

Dudley residents have spoken of their distress following a shooting incident near their home.

Emergency services rushed to the scene of Priory Road, Dudley, on Thursday morning to reports of a firearm being discharged at an address on the street.

On arrival, West Midlands Police discovered that two shots had been fired at the address, with a woman being hit by one of the shots.

She was transferred to the hospital for injuries believed to be serious.

The road was quickly blocked to all traffic, with commuters being warned to avoid the route where possible.

 Now, residents have described their fear following the incident, with many saying that they were 'woken up' by what they thought was 'a car backfiring'.
