Reports of thieves targeting 'number plates' in Cannock sparks appeal

Police are appealing for information after receiving a number of reports of licence plate thefts in the Cannock area.

Staffordshire Police are investigating after receiving reports of multiple number plate thefts in Cannock.

The most recent thefts took place on Friday, May 30, and Saturday, 31.

One plate was stolen off of a blue Vauxhall Corse, parked on Green Lane, Rugeley, sometime between 9am on Friday and 9am on Saturday.

Another number plate was taken off a grey Audi A7 parked parked on Taylors Way in Cannock. 

Now, Staffordshire Police officers are making inquiries locally and reviewing doorbell camera footage, with the force also asking anyone with information to contact them directly.

A West Midlands Police spokesperson said: "The most recent took place on Friday, May 30.

"Another number plate was taken off a Audi A7 parked on Taylors Way in Cannock. Anyone concerned can visit Cannock police station, on Wolverhampton Road, Cannock"
