Fire crews called to blaze in tall building in Birmingham city centre

Firefighters were called to a blaze in a tall building in Birmingham city centre.

A total of four fire crews were initially sent to tackle the flames at the building on The Priory Queensway in the early hours of Tuesday (June 2).

Writing to X, formerly Twitter, just after 1am, West Midlands Fire Service urged people to avoid the area.

The fire service wrote: "We have four crews in attendance at The Priory Queensway, Birmingham, where they have responded to a fire in a tall building. Please avoid the area, where possible."
